Boston RV & Camping Expo seminar program to be given

Bernie Jwaszewski; National Park Tour guide, videographer, and work camper traveler

Bernie is like many of us; has worked hard, steady and long to maintain hearth and home but decided it’s finally time to play!

He has RVed across the country to be a tour guide in our great national Parks (Glacier, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, and Acadia).

While at Glacier National Park in Montana he lived on the Blackfeet Indian reservation while he drove one of the Parks historic open topped Red buses over “The Going To The Sun Road”. Because he has driven a “Red” in Glacier he doesn’t mind being called Jammer Bernie.

Bernie’s presentations go beyond the traditional often thought of “work camping” experience. Many folks think this life style is limited to being a campground host and trading time for their site, but respectable money can be earned to help pay for travel in these high cost times.

Jammer Bernie offers knowledge that few others can; he has lived and learned the national park experience by working these great jobs;
•    Motor coach Step-on tour guide at Acadia National Park (NP)
•    Trolley tourist driver guide at Bar Harbor, Maine and Acadia NP
•    Park service employee at Glacier NP supervising the Parks shuttle bus service
•    Tour guide at Yellowstone NP
•    Tour guide at Grand Teton NP
•    Tour guide at Glacier NP, driving the Parks historic Red buses

Bernie’s presentations are for both; the armchair adventurer and those who are planning to spend time on the road traveling or work camping.

Seminar topics
Work camping, is it for you? - Work camping; it can be more than cleaning toilets!
Work camping, is it for you? – The basics of living on the road long term.
Work camping, is it for you? – It’s not all “peaches and cream.”

It's story time again!

I hope that one and all will come to the 2009 Springfield (MA) RV show in February. I have been invited back again to share the good, and “you wouldn’t believe” stories about being a Work camper in a National park, this time Acadia in Maine.
The economy isn’t doing too well right now but remember we have been down before. The RV industry is not immune to the slow down, I was also scheduled to appear at the Boston RV show this year but the whole thing was canceled! To me this means our national parks will be even easier to enjoy in 2009.

Another great summer in a national park

It all depends if you think the glass is half full or other wise. Gas topped out at $4.20 a gallon and it rained…a lot but spending the summer at Acadia national park was well worth the wet feet. I have joked to folks in the past that spending an entire summer at a Park ensures me that I will be there for all the good days. That joke really came home on me. The Park was empty and my wife and I enjoyed all Acadia has to offer.
